To claim a payment you need a Centrelink online account linked to myGov. If you don’t have a myGov account, it’s simple to produce one.

3. Under Job Seekers choose Start.
4. Select Request JobSeeker Payment then follow the prompts to finish your claim.

20: Sign in to myGov and make a claim in Centrelink

If your Centrelink online account is linked to myGov, you can use online.

To do this:

1. Sign in to myGov.
2. Select Make a claim or view claim status, then Make a claim.
3. Under Job Seekers select Start.
4. Select Obtain JobSeeker Payment and follow the prompts to finish your claim.

We’ll inform you if you require to do anything else to complete your claim. We might ask you submit supporting documents to send your claim.

You can complete these actions up to 13 weeks before your scenarios change. You can then submit your claim 2 week before your circumstances change. We’ll contact you to advise you to do this.

21: Check in to myGov and link to Centrelink with your CRN to declare

22: After you declare by phone

We’ll contact you if we require more information.

We’ll send you a letter to let you know your claim outcome. If your claim succeeds, we’ll let you understand:

– when you’ll get your first payment
– how much you’ll get.

23: After you claim online

After you submit your claim online, you’ll get a receipt telling you:

– the ID variety of your claim
– the date we approximate your claim will be total.
