Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

This position is responsible for developing, planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the administrative, personnel, business, and fiscal functions for the Department of Community and Behavioral Health. The position has advisory, budgetary, managerial, and supervisory duties and responsibility for independent decision making regarding the daily administrative operations of the Department of Community and Behavioral Health. The duties of this position include collaborating with the Chair in formulating strategic planning and short-term/long-term goal setting for the department.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • 50% Administrative Management
  • 20% Fiscal Management
  • 15% Faculty and Staff Management
  • 10% Supervision
  • 5% Other

Required Qualifications:

Positions require a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Demonstrated experience related to executive office management and business administration.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of policies and procedures in a complex academic institution or similar complex organization.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain harmonious working relationships.
  • Demonstrated the ability to manage multiple priorities with varying deadlines.
  • Experience maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated experience of being proactive, taking initiative, being organized and efficiently responsive and able to analyze and respond to complex situations and tasks.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Computer software skills, including use of emails, internet, databases, spreadsheets, word processing, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in complex matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment of change.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty and staff at a myriad of levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a hierarchical organization.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working in a new medical school or equivalent.
