Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents
 is a unique acute care, inpatient specialty hospital with 110 licensed beds, including Med Surg. and Residential Treatment Center; staffed by the finest physicians and treatment teams. We treat patients, ages 2-22 who have chronic illnesses, brain injuries and neurobehavioral disorders with co-behavioral issues.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Completes documentation and implementation of treatment plans ensuring involvement and understanding by the patient by using correct terminology, daily logs, progress reports and submits appropriate written and verbal reports by required deadlines.
  • Ensures patient’s rights are observed by encouraging questions regarding treatment and explaining program. Works cooperatively as a member of multidisciplinary team.
  • Acts as advocate in providing safe delivery of care to promote wellness. Demonstrates the ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations, ability to verbally de-escalate patient and to complete accurate, timely documentation.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Two years related experience with adolescents and children or relevant college coursework in a related field.
  • Previous experience with emotionally disturbed or physically disabled persons preferred.
  • Current Virginia driver’s licensure with a good driving record
  • Must be able to sustain physical activity throughout the scheduled shift
  • Able to remain on feet throughout the scheduled shift
