Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator- Central Scheduling
The Intake Resource Coordinator will serve to provide general assistance, information, referrals and scheduling for families seeking Behavioral Health services. The Intake Resource Coordinator represents to the community the quality of service delivery provided through Behavioral Health Services, and thus is required to have exceptional interpersonal skills, judgment and knowledge of agency and community resources, and a strong ability for problem solving in crisis or conflict situations. This individual will implement a screening and triage process to assist families in determining the necessary services. This position requires excellent organizational skills and ability to interact with all levels of CHBH and Children’s Hospital staff, as well as a wide range of external contacts. Education and training in a mental health field, as well as strong skills in data entry and basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer general questions and make referrals for families/professionals seeking a range of Behavioral Health services.
  • Implement a screening and triage process to assist families in determining the necessary services or assessments.
  • Major responsibility for gathering referral and pre-admission information from referring agencies, professionals, clients and other customers.
  • Completes all data entry for pre-admission including identifying information, reason for referral, relevant history, and payor type information.
  • Identify emergent or complex cases and seek clinical review, as needed, prior to finalizing the referral.
  • Maintains working relationship with administrative, operations, and clinical staff to assure efficiency in the day to day functioning of the resource and scheduling service.
  • Employ a data-base to assess the demand/waiting lists for services and the ability of current service capacities to meet the community’s needs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all clinical and administrative information consistent with agency policy.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work or a related area with experience in the field of behavioral health is required.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sitting – Constantly (67-100%)
  • Stooping – Occasionally (0-33%)
  • Standing – Occasionally (0-33%)
  • Talking on the phone or in person – Constantly (67-100%)
