Marin County is currently establishing an eligible list for all Behavioral Health Programs for Behavioral Health Practitioners, Associate or Licensed. Monolingual and bilingual (Spanish/English) vacancies are available.

This list may be used to fill Behavioral Health Practitioner (Associate or Licensed) vacancies as long as the list is active. As such, you are encouraged to apply even if a vacancy doesn’t exist in the program for which you are interested.
 
The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies for open, fixed-term, full-time or part-time positions which may occur while the list remains active.

Access Program

There is one full-time position available in Health & Human Services on the Access Team. The role will work out of our West Marin office located in Point Reyes and will need to travel throughout Marin County, and will spend significant time traveling throughout West Marin. Under the direction of the Access Team Unit Supervisor, the practitioners will provide telephonic information, screening and referral services, as well as in-person assessments to Medi-Cal beneficiaries who are seeking mental health and substance use services. This position requires bilingual skills (Spanish/English) and is required to be in the office and in the community. 

 

Odyssey Program

BHRS Odyssey team is a Behavioral Health Recovery Services (BHRS) Program within Health and Human Services at Marin County. This multi-disciplinary team provides mental health treatment services to Marin Medi-Cal adults who are homeless or unstably housed with severe mental health issues. Under the direction of the Mental Health Unit Supervisor, the mental health practitioner provides intensive case management services to adults with serious mental illness who may have substance use disorders and homelessness. In addition, the mental health practitioner provides on-going comprehensive clinical assessment and treatment planning. This position requires bilingual skills (Spanish/English) and is required to be in the office and in the community. 

 

Youth and Family Services

There are two vacancies in Youth and Family Services which will be filled with Mental Health Practitioners (Associate or Licensed).  These positions require bilingual skills (Spanish/English).
Children’s Mental Health Services provides outpatient individual and family therapy as well as targeted case management. The position will report to a Children’s Mental Health Unit Supervisor who manages the day-to-day operations. This position will be assessing children and youth referred to Youth and Family Services (YFS) per their level of care needed and meeting the medical necessity. This role will be completing clinical assessments, ongoing trauma screenings, formulating diagnostic impressions, and co-creating treatment plans with client/parents. Maintaining ongoing, timely documentation for each client is a must, and flexibility to work in the community, clinic and schools is needed, along with a strong sense of collaboration. Some duties of this position may be performed remotely and options to telework up to three days per week and work remaining days onsite are available; however, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments and/or disaster service work upon short notice as needed and deemed appropriate. While onboarding and training, the successful candidate may be required to work primarily onsite before establishing a hybrid work schedule.

Forensic System of Care Position

There is one full-time position in the Behavioral Health & Recovery Services Division of Health & Human Services, Forensic Division.

Responsibilities involve screening, evaluation, treatment planning and re-entry planning for individuals in the criminal justice system. This position is a part of the Jail Mental Health team, with a focus on re-entry planning for inmates with serious mental illnesses. Successful re-entry requires close collaboration with the Courts, criminal justice partners (probation, district attorney, local law enforcement), defense attorneys, family, and referrals and linkage to needed community care. Under the direction of the Jail Mental Health Unit Supervisor, the mental health practitioner will provide screening and brief needs assessment of inmates, referrals to community-based mental health and substance use treatment, assistance in obtaining housing and public benefits, and will follow up with the inmate once released to the community. The mental health practitioner will collaborate with multiple community agencies and hospitals, and will complete evaluations PC4011.6 and WIC5150 evaluations as needed, in order to facilitate admission to inpatient hospitals. The practitioner will attend regular re-entry and mental health team meetings in the Jail, and case consultation and placement meetings with community partners. The practitioner will be responsible for keeping electronic medical records current and meeting monthly standards of productivity. This position may require full background clearance by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. This position is required to work within Marin County Jail. The position includes a 10% differential paid for jail assignment.

Floater Position

There is one full-time Floater position in the Behavioral Health & Recovery Services Division. This is a unique opportunity to rotate between Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) programs as a full-time, regular Mental Health Practitioner or a Mental Health Practitioner, Licensed such as Access, HOPE, Impact and Odyssey. You will have the opportunity to support units across our programs, meeting short-term and medium-term services needs in multiple locations based on business needs of BHRS.

Under the direction of the assigned Unit Supervisor and based on business needs, the practitioner will be assigned across a variety of BHRS programs. The practitioner will provide intensive case management or screening and referral services to the adult/older adult population across the age spectrum of 18 years old and up. Duties will include intensive case management in addition to on-going comprehensive assessment, treatment planning and act as a client advocate when clients are not able to advocate for themselves. The practitioner may also be assigned to the ACCESS team providing telephonic information, screening and referrals services as well as in-person assessments to Medi-Cal beneficiaries seeking mental health and substance use service in Marin County. Callers or clients may be in acute crisis prompting immediate intervention; thus, the practitioner will also possess excellent crisis intervention skills. This position is required to be in the office and in the community.
