Job Overview

The Behavioral Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous member care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to ensure the success of our members.

Overnight BHT Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of supervision while on shift; remain awake during present hours
  • Ensure safety of all members in Miss A’s BHRF with recorded hourly welfare checks
  • Communicate with team on any needed heightened oversight of member’s expressing suicidal ideation, self-harm, hallucinations, etc.
  • Responsible for supportive oversight and behavior management of Miss A’s members
  • Complete all overnight welfare checks accurately during shift and communicate with team any concerns of awake times of members
  • Ensure that all members are woken up at the appropriate times dependent on routine / structure of day
  • Ensure all members are timely in completion of hygiene, medications, and structure of day. i.e. school bus pick up, appointments, etc.
  • Ensure that staff communication board and daily schedule is being adhered to
  • Ensure all members dietary needs are met in the morning and/or met at school upon arrival
  • Ensure medications prepared, administered, and logged accurately and at the appropriate times
  • Ensure all household cleaning/disinfecting is completed on shift, completing all task on the nightly cleaning list
  • Ensure deep cleaning of monthly cleaning task is completed to its entirety
  • Follow state regulations of all chemicals and cleaning supplies being locked up at all times
  • Follow state regulations of all medications being locked up at all times
  • Assist in mandated requirements of state and governing board to remain compliant i.e. all garbage’s have bags, beds have waterproof mattress covers, all showers/bathtub have slip resistant mats, hygiene remains locked up after use
  • Ensure members make beds, clean rooms, closets prior to leaving BHRF in morning
  • Contact manager on call for any emergency/crisis i.e. – AWOL, injuries, etc.
  • Complete all required incident reports of events that transpired during the shift
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the managers of Miss A’s.

Qualifications/Experience

  • 1 year previous experience as a BHT or equivalent
  • Minimum High School diploma or GED
  • Previous work with children/teens

COVID-19 considerations:
Employees complete an internal Covid Screening before each sift, including a temperature reading. Members have temperatures’ taken twice a day and logged; when they wake and come home from school wearing protective masks while attending (if applicable)
