Job Overview
POSITION PURPOSE
The psychiatric therapist is under the direct supervision of the Social Services Manager and is responsible to the Director of Behavioral Health. Therapists are responsible for treatment planning, coordination and service delivery in conjunction with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Services include but are not limited to psychosocial assessment, group/individual/family therapy and discharge planning/coordination.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, related field, or equivalent from an accredited college or LPC or LADAC. License preferred. Bachelor’s degree with commensurate mental health or chemical dependency work experience could be considered in some instances.
Diploma or transcripts will be required upon hire.
Experience:
Desirable characteristics include at least one year of post graduate mental health work experience or two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
Licenses/Certificates:
BLS certification required. SAMA within 90 days of hire, if not current upon hire.
