Cascade Senior Living Services is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee Western Washington’s first combined Behavioral Health/Dementia Assisted Living program. We invite you to bring your expertise and compassion to Cascade Park Garden’s New Horizons as a Behavioral Support Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead all aspects of the Advanced Service Program, a state-licensed assisted living facility providing a Behavioral Health Supportive Living program, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
– Direct, plan, supervise, train, and coordinate services and activities within the program and among its staff.
Essential Attributes and Experience:
– Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychiatric Nursing, or a similar field; RN or other relevant advanced degree.
– At least one year of supervisory experience in health or social services.
– Minimum of three years of direct care experience or managing care for vulnerable adults in licensed settings, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
– Knowledge of regulations governing assisted living centers in Washington State, with prior experience in such settings preferred.
– Proven leadership abilities with effective supervisory skills and the capacity to manage and direct others.
– Commitment to working with functionally and/or cognitively impaired adults while maintaining their privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and individuality.
– Quick problem-solving skills and the ability to address issues promptly.
– Proficient in training staff on-the-spot.
– Strong communication skills to foster positive relationships with participants, families, physicians, state officials, company staff, and external agencies.
– Ability to manage within budget constraints.
– Passion for supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and advanced behavioral health conditions.
– Expertise in behavior management and de-escalation techniques.
– Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
– Flexibility to work varying hours and be on-call as needed.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and respond well to guidance.
– Team-oriented with skills in teaching, monitoring, and motivating others.
– Current HCA or NAC certification (or willingness to obtain) if not already a licensed nurse.
– Strong personal integrity and a reputation for good character.
