Job Overview

Job Hours: Full Time – 40 hrs/5 days per week (Non-exempt)
Supervised by: Family Services Manager
Salary: DOE with full health, dental, and PTO benefits

Holy Family Day Home is a 501(c) (3) organization celebrating 100 years of providing high quality
childcare and family support services in San Francisco. Our mission is to provide affordable, high quality,
early educational childcare in a stable and nurturing environment, thereby offering the children of
working families a sound foundation for lifelong development, continuing a tradition established by the
Sisters of the Holy Family.

Scope of Work:
The Behavior Therapist is a member of the Family Support Services team, and a key member of our
classroom support team. The role of the behavior therapist is to develop, facilitate, and support the social
emotional growth of our children through behavioral and ABA based interventions. The Behavior
Therapist will be responsible for providing per diem and scheduled support for classrooms and children
exhibiting maladaptive or unmanageable behaviors. This clinician will be assigned students to work with
by the Family Support Services team and will be expected to maintain consistent and sound therapeutic
notes and document progress toward treatment goals. The Behavior Therapist will be expected to develop
Behavior Support plans and objectives for each client on their assigned caseload. In collaboration with
supervision, the Behavior Therapist will keep the team abreast of the needs of the students in their
sessions and report aggregate data to the leadership team on a weekly basis.

Minimum Qualifications:
• BA/BS Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, Applied Behavior Analysis.

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in an ABA therapeutic or clinical capacity with children below

the age of 7 exhibiting moderate to severe behavioral issues and/or social emotional and
developmental delays.

  • Ability to maintain composure and sound judgement under stressful and shifting demands.
  • Willingness to implement physical/verbal/gestural/ and other redirected techniques.
  • Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Excel, MSOffice.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
  • Experience working with people from diverse racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds,
including houseless neighbors.

  • Ability to consistently lift and/or carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Must pass Live scan fingerprinting process and background check

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Provide in classroom support to children with behavioral needs.
• Work with HFDH Family Services Team; consisting of Case Manager, Family Therapist, Play

Therapist, and School Counselor to identify and engage child and families in supportive services.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to provide trauma-informed and strengths based

psychoeducation to the community as whole.
• Provide or Collaborate on a formal assessment for each child after meeting with the childs’

family and teachers, observing the child in class and meeting with the child individually.
• Draft Behavior Support plans for each child and discuss them with the parents; obtain the

parents’ approval of the plan.
• Provide referrals to adjunct services for children as needed.
• All other duties assigned.

Communication:

  • Work cooperatively with parents, staff and third-party consultants to meet the individual needs

of children and their families.

  • Conduct meetings with parents/guardians for child assessment.

• Maintain communication regarding Holy Family Day Home to parents, other staff members,and the surrounding community.
• Meet regularly with administration, parents, teachers and others regarding the developmental

progress of children and interpretation of HFDH policies.
