The behavioral health tech is a member of the MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center healthcare team and assists the registered professional nurse in the delivery of holistic, compassionate, individualized, and effective patient care by assisting the patient with activities of daily living as well as other physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Certification in a 75-hour CNA certification program preferred and a minimum of a high school education or GED equivalent is required. Certification and/or experience in the behavior health field are preferred. All techs that hold CNA certification are encouraged to belong to the National Nursing Aide Registry. CNAs in the registry must complete 12 hours of in-service per calendar year.
Education, Licensure and Certification
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter
