This is a collaborative care position based within 2 medical pediatric homes which serve a primarily underserved and complex patient population, including a significant number of children in foster and kinship care, children with medical complexity, and immigrants from across the world. . This position is focused on collaboration, integration and teaching. The successful candidate will provide psychiatric consultation to pediatricians within the pediatric primary medical homes at the Connor Child Health Pavilion on the hospital’s main campus and at the Hope Center for Families, a new two-generation model of care in Northwest Dayton, within the Division of General Academic Pediatrics at Dayton Children’s Hospital. They will provide in-service education on mental health issues to pediatricians, pediatric and family medicine residents, and medical students from Wright State university Boonshoft School of Medicine. within the clinics. They will support pediatric residents on managing psychotropic medications. There will be the opportunity for continued medication management within the psychiatrist’s own case load in addition to the consultative model. They will join a dedicated, multidisciplinary team of psychologists, nurses, social workers and 11 pediatricians in two different offices and will have the opportunity to enjoy a flexible schedule which offers work-life balance. The opportunity to supervise and teach pediatric, psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry residents exists through the hospital’s affiliation with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Research opportunities are available but not required.
