The ITS- Academic and Client Support Services department at SIUE is seeking qualified candidates to fill a full-time, Information Technology Support Associate (ITSA)- Client Support Specialist I. Academic and Client Support Services supports SIUE’s technology users and is comprised of the help desk, desktop support, lab and classroom support, instructional design and support, application support, and identity and access management. The department strives to provide the best possible service while linking clients to the resources they need and collaborating with them as technology partners.
Under administrative direction from the department Manager, the ITSA- Client Support Specialists I provide timely and effective support for computer solutions to customer service problems, as well as handle the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and software. The selected candidate will provide hardware, software and networking training, and works as part of the team that refreshes leased computers on campus during the lease cycle. Additionally, ITSA- Client Support Specialist I provide direct support for computer solutions in computer labs and classrooms including installation, configuration and maintenance of the computers. Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the department.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Any combination totaling one year from the following categories:
(a) Progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession.
(b) College course work which included Information Technology (IT), or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
-60 semester hours or Associate’s degree equals one year

Preferred Qualifications:
All experience (preferred and minimum) can be concurrent:
1) 1 to 3 years of experience installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software;
2) 1 to 3 years of demonstrable knowledge of scripting languages OR programming, and programming theory and practice;
3) 1 to 3 years of experience troubleshooting computer networking technology, servers, services, and related protocols such as TCP/IP, NETBIOS, AppleTalk, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11;
4) 1 to 3 years experience installing, maintaining, administering, and trouble shooting multiple operating system platforms such as DOS, MS-Windows, Apple Mac OS, iOS, Android, UNIX, etc.;
5) 1 to 3 years of experience using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or alternate large scale imaging experience;
6)1 to 3 years’ experience in maintaining systems in an Active Directory environment.

Non-Exempt

Posting Salary:
$3,388.50 Monthly ($40,662 Annual), excellent benefits package.
