We currently seek a Primary Counselor that will provide passionate, evidenced-passed therapy and education to clients to promote insight, healing, and progress toward their recovery goals. The River Source offers professional training in motivational interviewing, trauma therapy, and family systems as well as any individual pursuits to help benefit our clients.

Job summary:

Under the supervision of the CEO, the Clinical Director is responsible for hiring, supervising, and developing the clinical team, developing, implementing, and ensuring delivery of clinical programming/curriculum, and collaborating with other departments to ensure client safety and therapeutic healing. The Clinical Director maintains the client daily schedule, supervises client participation in the program, and assist clients in benefiting from program services using appropriate crisis prevention and de-escalation skills. The Clinical Director documents clinical staff supervision and communicates pertinent client information across shifts with other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team. The Clinical Director ensures adherence to ethical and legal standards established by local and national accrediting mental health and addiction bodies.

Qualifications:

Clinical Director providing services to shall possess the following:

· a master’s degree in social work, clinical counseling or related field from an accredited college or university required;

· Independently Licensed in the counseling field, and is in good standing with the State of Arizona’s Board of Behavioral Health Examiners

· Experience in addictions and co-occurring disorders, program development, and prior supervision experience

· must be at least 21 years of age;

· must be able to pass e-verify and background check;

The River Source offers reimbursement for various trainings and certifications. The River Source is growing and future opportunities for advanced leadership and executive positions may be available in the form of Executive Clinical Director, Chief Clinical Officer, etc.

Physical/Emotional health requirements:

Must be without physical or emotional limitation’s that would impair ability to fulfill the functions of the position, including freedom from substance abuse. The work environment is that characteristic of residential behavioral health treatment services. Must be able to stand, sit, and travel to all areas of the facility and meetings as necessary; as well as read, write, and comprehend the English language. Must physically be able to demonstrate all Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). Also must be able to pass a Tuberculosis screening (TB test).

Responsibilities and duties:

The Director of Clinical Services performance will be rated satisfactory when the employee accomplishes these functions thoroughly and consistently:

· Monitors clients continuously and maintains a safe, protective environment for the clients

· Performance goals

· Meet or exceed all regulatory requirements (federal, state, and local agencies) i.e. health department, environment apartment food services.

· Meet the needs of clients and family members with positive and productive interactions.

· Participates in networking, speaking engagements, and workshops.

· Lead Clinical Oversight Staff meetings weekly.

· Manage Staff – Clinical Supervisors, Lead Case Managers, Case Managers, and Addiction Counselors.

· Monitors and documents client’s participation in program activities, as well as client behaviors and symptomology.

· Models appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with clients and coworkers.

· Oversees the Clinical protocol and training of all sites in Arizona.

· Monthly audits of client treatment plans, individual/group therapy notes, BioPsychosocial Assessments and discharge summaries and review in bi-weekly Clinical Dept. EOS meeting

· Conducts quarterly conversations with direct reports.

· Attends weekly Director’s meetings and quarterly/annual EOS Director’s meetings

· Assist the Executive Director and Directors in the development, planning and implementation of goals and objectives and policies and procedures as requested

· Assist in any aspects of marketing the business including; Internet articles, telephone calls, emails, mailings, outreach, material production, meetings and/or community promotion events

· Confirm with client’s Counselors they are following recommendation/ instructions

· Meet or talk with potential clients, family members- available to walk through facility

· Complies with security procedures to limit and control contraband in client areas and to prevent dangerous behavior by clients

· Assist with Peer to Peer Insurance Reviews.

Counseling and Guidance of Clients

· Develops positive, supportive relationship with clients

· Facilitates clients group discussions of topics related to unit safety, communication, and promotion of a therapeutic community

· Conducts one-on-one interviews with clients as needed for purposes of crisis prevention or crisis management or to assist clients in following their establish treatment plan

· Assist clients in developing life skills and enhancing social skills

· Implements treatment plan interventions as assigned by therapist

· Conducts psycho-educational groups on chemical dependency, cognitive restructuring, self-esteem, anger management, life skills, social skills, etc.

· Functions as a role model and resource to clients

Professional Demeanor

· Maintains professional appearance and behavior

· Adheres to prescribed dress code

· Attends all required training and supervision sessions

· Upholds the policies and procedures of the agency

Treatment Team Participation

· Participates in performance improvement activities

· Participates in self-evaluation

· Utilizes all available means to communicate effectively and efficiently with the treatment team

· Pursues established training goals and objectives

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
We screen for symptoms and take temperatures at the door, masks are worn in all common areas. All patients are tested at the time of intake.

  • Healthcare Management Occupations: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • LPC, LCSW, LISAC, or LMFT in the State of Arizona (Required)
