We are searching for an experienced Clinical Support Professional – Group Counseling: Dynamics and Leadership (Hybrid) at our Online facility.

Compensation: $600 for the course

Job Summary
The Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling department seeks Clinical Support Professionals (CSPs) to assist the course instructor in class and outside of class meetings and offering support with the student experience in class. This is a one-semester appointment.
This is a 3-credit course offered Online for Summer 2022, May 16 – August 19 that can be taught remotely.
This also has in-person intensives being held in Boulder, CO July 18-23, 2022 which would need to be in person.

Course Description
CNST-750e – Group Counseling: Dynamics and Leadership (3 Credits)
This clinical mental health counseling course examines the history, theories, models, and research of group counseling and group dynamics. Emphasis is placed on clinical mental health group counseling skills and techniques. The course includes at least 20 hours experiential participation as a group member. Additionally, students will also gain experience and practice as a group leader with supervision, feedback, and guidance. Students critically examine of group counseling approaches though lenses including diversity, power, and social narratives. Students are exposed to panoptic and inclusive interventions towards developing group approaches to fit context, needs, and goals of group counseling participants. The integration of group counseling with Mindfulness and Transpersonal perspectives incorporated throughout the course. Prerequisite: CNST661e.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend class meetings.
  • Facilitate discussion groups and/or small group work.
  • Support course instructor in preparing for class, such as preparing materials (e.g., assessment instruments) for use in class.
  • Confer with course instructor regarding students’ learning as evidenced by class participation and assignments.
  • Support the instructor by tracking the group dynamics of the class.
  • Offer examples of the material from personal clinical experience.
  • Meet one-on-one with students as needed to support their learning.
  • Review written and oral work of the students for understanding students’ experience, without evaluation.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Not currently enrolled as a Naropa student.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated skill in group facilitation.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a close team, working collaboratively with course instructor and students.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Contemplative Education.
  • Familiarity with transpersonal psychology and/or mindfulness.
  • Familiarity with Naropa’s Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Psychology Counseling concentration.
  • Prior experience with direct clinical work in counseling, psychology, or related field.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
Members spend most of their time in their classrooms or in virtual meetings with some time in offices. In the classrooms and on campus may experience: interruptions, distractions, heat, cold, dust and/or dampness. As a member, you may spend extended periods in front of students and speaking as well as:

  • Reading academic texts and materials, student papers, etc.
  • Operating personal computer and audio-visual equipment.
  • Standing or sitting for hours at a time.
  • Moving around campus for classes and meetings.
