WHAT WE DO

La Cocina is a purpose-driven multicultural and multilingual community co-designed mental health agency leading Latinx health equity and social justice in Colorado. The program’s multidisciplinary team provides a range of services aimed at reducing inequities in mental health care by creating opportunities and generating offerings for Latinx families and communities to come together and heal through culturally attuned social-emotional support services in Spanish or bilingually (Spanish-English). La Cocina’s services include a wide range of psychological and psychotherapeutic services for children, adults and families; as well as structured therapy groups and Charlas for adults and adolescents. The agency also offers case management, peer-supported programs, and forensic assessment services for individuals in immigration proceedings. Our teams provide trauma-informed and developmentally sensitive mental health services to Spanish-speaking Colorado families living in six+ counties, including Larimer, Weld, Eagle, Summit, Garfield, and greater Denver.

THE OPPORTUNITY

La Cocina’s Clinical Training and Supervision Manager provides oversight and clinical supervision to Master’s and Ph.D. graduate-level clinicians-in-training. This role will also provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed clinician’s in order to meet DORA supervision requirements as needed and required. This role contributes to the agency’s mission by supporting the leadership team in advancing and growing Colorado’s only Latinx Psychology and applied Latinx mental healthcare internship program. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing training, clinical and administrative supervision, evaluating trainees’ progress, and promoting collaboration and professional growth through La Cocina’s innovative application of Liberation Psychology and its tenets. The successful candidate will ensure that La Cocina trainees excel in the delivery of culturally-relevant clinical activities by providing Liberation-based reflective supervision and practice, innovative capacity building opportunities, and generative leadership intended to balance best clinical practice standards with La Cocina’s mission, vision and values.

This is a part-time position generally anticipated to work 30 hours per week.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Recruits, trains and supervises qualified graduate-level interns, externs and postdoctoral fellows committed to Latinx psychology and applied Latinx mental healthcare.
  • Facilitates weekly individual and group reflective supervision and/or practice, integrating process-based learning with best-practice approaches and La Cocina’s applied Liberation Psychology model.
  • Incorporates pre-licensed clinical employees in the developed training program in order to support specific professional development needs as required.
  • Oversees the work of diverse graduate trainees (currently four), including supporting their work in scaffolding individual, family, and/or group services, participating in community participatory models of care, and providing structural support for maintaining La Cocina’s clinical compliance standards.
  • Provides training relevant to clinical documentation in compliance with La Cocina’s Clinician’s Handbook.
  • Interfaces with trainees’ graduate program(s) sites by cultivating strong relationships that uphold La Cocina’s standards for excellence in the provision of services to the Latinx community, and which ensure compliance with contractual obligations with valued collaborators.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Director(s) to ensure that program goals are met, and the provision of services is consistent and cohesive across programs in which program participants are providing services.
  • Assesses program participants’ professional development and performance. Reports on both individual and programmatic progress based on established metrices for program participants.
  • Ensures contractual compliance between La Cocina and higher learning institutions; and any shared components of administrative oversight of the Training Program.
  • Provides expert oversight and enforcement of DORA requirements & compliance.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

  • Currently licensed by DORA in the state of Colorado. Acceptable licenses include Licensed Psychologist, LPC, LMFT, and/or LCSW.
  • Minimum three years post-licensure clinical and leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical skill in assessment/evaluation, treatment and crisis intervention while working from a Latinx social justice perspective.
  • Prior supervisory experience and ability to consult on clinical and/or performance issues.
  • Ability to select and implement models of supervision which meet the learning and professional development needs of clinicians-in-training; reflective supervision is strongly preferred.
  • Independent and resourceful thinker, with the ability to manage and implement programs, people, and learners.
  • Experience developing and implementing new programming.
  • Experience with, and demonstrated success in, creating training and outreach materials, using appropriate software platforms, integrating graphics, and evidenced-based learning principles.
  • Strong organizational, management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to advance La Cocina’s mission, vision and values.
  • Proficiency and sensitivity in working with Latinx social justice movements including oppression, discrimination, racism and white fragility, with a demonstrated record of balancing a strong social justice stance with best clinical practice standards.
  • Must carry own malpractice insurance and be willing to undergo a full background check, including fingerprinting.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fluency in Spanish & English preferred.
  • Ability to conceptualize and apply a trauma-informed approach.
  • Experience working with psychometric measures, including trauma and/or life adversity measures.
  • Experience writing mental health reports.
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents.

WHAT OUR ORGANIZATION IS PROVIDING

  • $54,600 – $62,400 annually

  • La Cocina currently operates in a hybrid environment. This role will be required to work out of two offices: one in Denver and one in Fort Collins with the balance of time working from home.
