DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The employee in this position is responsible for developing, analyzing, and coordinating policy planning and budgets for the adult clinic based mental health services (inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization services, crisis, case management and base service unit activities) as well as ancillary services.

They will assist with the monitoring of mental health allocations, contract amendments, year–end budgetary adjustments, and Medical Assistance (MA) expenditures relative to clinic based services and ancillary services. The employee will also review and mediate all consumer and family complaints regarding adult clinic based, case management, and ancillary mental health services.

  • Full-time employment
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30 minute lunch period
  • You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre.
  • There is a possibility of this being changed due to agency/business needs.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a County Mental Health Program Specialist 1; OR Three years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor’s degree; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring Preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Luzerne, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Columbia, Carbon, Schuylkill, Monroe, or Sullivan counties.
