JOB SUMMARY:
The Crisis Response Specialist is responsible for responding to all Swope Health Services emergency calls related but not limited to suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, situational crises and activities of daily living supports not otherwise covered by existing services offered through the Outpatient Behavioral Health Department.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Responds to crisis calls (either in the facility or in the community) or by other members of the Behavioral Health team which may include a Community Support Specialist, Psychiatrist, etc.
- Facilitates hospitalization of clients when such action is determined to be necessary and as agreed to with the supervisor.
- Serves as an internal Suicide Prevention Team member.
- Provides assistance to clients when necessary in order to help the client deal with the crisis and prevent hospitalization of clients when feasible.
- Completes all clinical documentation required to develop ACI and other necessary reports. This includes completing all crisis notes within 48 hours of intervention.
- In conjunction with other Crisis Response Specialists, provides 24 hour coverage for behavioral health crisis services.
- Must demonstrate a working knowledge of Crisis Intervention Strategies as determined through annual evaluation of competencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Social Work or Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field.
- One year experience in the Behavioral Health field.
- License eligible in Missouri preferred.
- Must demonstrate working knowledge of The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition DSM-V.
- Must complete Access Crisis Intervention (ACI) On-Call Orientation within 60 days of employment.
- Associates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or obtain an approved exemption for vaccination accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
