Positions available throughout Massachusetts: West Newbury/Haverhill, Lowell, Woburn, Waltham, Boston, Norwood, Marlboro, Worcester, Westfield, and Springfield. (Please indicate preferred location in cover letter)

As an Early Intervention Developmental Specialist, you will be serving children who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families in both their homes and community settings. Your goals will be to identify specific strengths as well as developmental concerns, coordinate care, and support families so they can thrive!

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams assessing children’s development and family priorities, needs and concerns.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) with responsibility for identifying goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development and family needs.
  • Provide direct services to clients according to their IFSP’s to include home visits, child groups and parent groups.
  • Assume Service Coordinator responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Monitor developmental milestones and progress as well as evolving family needs.
  • Provide ongoing consultation to multidisciplinary team members..
  • Document all information necessary for the upkeep of client files (including electronic documentation).
  • Professional use and maintenance of company issued laptop and cell phone.
  • Participate in the supervision and evaluation of staff, students, and volunteers as requested.

Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree (early intervention, early childhood, or special education preferred). Other bachelor’s degree considered with child development coursework.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally informed services
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Recognition of importance of, and respect for, confidentiality
  • Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills
