Job Title:
 Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician

Shift: First – Full-Time

Job Hours: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM – Monday through Friday – Flexible to cover evenings; Weekends on a rotating basis and alternating holiday coverage between all staff

View Point Health Adult Residential Substance Detoxification is a short-term, 24/7 acute care, detox unit located in Covington, GA. Care is primarily focused on supervision, observation and support for individuals during withdrawal management. Residential Withdrawal Management is characterized by its emphasis on medical monitoring and/or on peer/social support. We are looking for a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician to join our multi-disciplinary team to conducts assessment, facilitate groups, conducts discharge planning as well as case management. We provide person-centered care and to assist with implementing our unit programming focused on stabilization and introducing clients to foundational early recovery skills.

The position requires flexibility in job tasks and scheduling to accommodate needs of the facility to include some weekend and evening coverage. All VPH residential facilities require alternating holiday coverage between all staff. Additionally, the Behavioral Health Clinician provides a variety of routine clinical and administrative functions for the Residential Substance Detoxification program. Duties are typically performed in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking. They may include but are not limited to the following:

 


Job Description:

  • Provides initial program orientation to clients presenting for treatment of BH, AD, and related personal problems.
  • Assesses client’s treatment needs, completes biopsychosocial assessments and assists the client in developing appropriate SMART treatment plans.
  • Facilities groups with clients with topics tailored to early recovery skills (i.e. psychoeducation, skills and some process groups)
  • Provides group, family, and individual education, skills-based training and supportive counseling to clients and their families/significant others. Clinician may also educate families/significant others on the addiction and recovery process.
  • The Clinician meets with clients at established intervals to discuss progress toward goals. With input from the clinical lead as needed, identifies unmet needs, reviews available resources, and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Clinician writes timely progress notes that relate directly to the treatment outcomes described in the treatment plan within 24 hours.
  • Clinician provides crisis intervention services as needed and facilitates transition of care for clients needing to access an Emergency Receiving facility
  • Clinician completes discharge summaries and other documentation and reports accurately and timely.
  • Clinician assembles, analyzes, and interprets new/updated information about the client in order to reassess treatment needs.
  • Clinician identifies unmet needs, reviews available resources, and modifies the treatment plan as indicated
  • Ensures clients with suicide risk have all necessary suicide prevention measures in place including the treatment plan, ensuring appropriate levels of observation, completing the safe environment prevention plan
  • Clinician also completes treatment authorizations and re-authorizations within required time frames
  • The clinician serves as case manager to facilitate and ensure communication, linkage, and continuity of care between clients, physicians, other organizational components, community resources and service providers. Documents collateral contact on all clients
  • Clinician establishes linkages and coordination of services with community agencies
  • Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with community service providers.
  • Clinician informs clients and families of the availability of community advocacy and support groups as well as services within View Point Health
  • Other duties as assigned.

 


Requirements/Competencies:

  • Must be a Fully Licensed clinician (LCSW/LPC/LMSW/LAPC) in the state of Georgia
  • This position is on-site and does not accommodate a remote schedule or working from home.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds
  • Requires long periods of sitting/standing
  • Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy
  • Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens
  • Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver’s license
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Fully or Associate licensure (LCSW/LPC/LMSW/LAPC). Experience working with individuals who are diagnosed with Substance Use Disorder. Experience in social service delivery and ECR.

 


Preferred Qualifications:

At least two years of experience working with children and adolescent in an inpatient facility.

Experience and/or knowledge of DBT preferred.

LPC, LCSW, LAPC, LMSW license / (Fully Licensed LCSW or LPC) preferred.

Interventions, Diagnosing, Treatment Plans

Experience with Care Logic

Is comfortable and proficient with collaborative & concurrent documentation

Experience in trauma-informed care, or trauma related interventions and skills
