A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MENTAL HEALTH & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
As a Mental Health & Behavioral Health Specialist, you make a positive impact in our community. Working in schools, you guide in-classroom interventions and engage in one-on-one mental health sessions. To improve the lives of people in our community, you provide extended one-on-one mental health support. You share your knowledge and expertise by teaching life and coping skills. In all of your work in both schools and the community, you coordinate with other mental and behavioral health professionals as well as help your clients manage extreme behaviors at times. You keep thorough session notes and accurately complete required paperwork. You love serving our community and providing support for your clients!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MENTAL HEALTH & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
- Bachelor’s degree in the human services field such as social work, psychology, family studies, or counseling
