Mental Health Counselor/Therapist - LPC, LCSW, PsyD, LMFT, PLPC, LMSW

Job Overview

Are you looking for a job where you are empowered to focus completely on providing your clients the absolute best therapy?

Have you become tired of office politics, burdensome paperwork and policies you just don’t understand?

Do you value having a supervisor who trusts you, listens to your suggestions and empowers you to do your best work?

Is helping clients face their mental health struggles your top priority?

If you answered “yes” to any of these, Aspire Counseling may be what you’re looking for!

Aspire Counseling: Who We Are

Aspire Counseling is a small private practice that focuses on providing evidence based counseling services. We’re best known for treating trauma and anxiety in children & adults. Therefore, we ask that every single new therapist is trained in at least one evidence based method for treating those two things. Then, we honestly treat a wide range of mental health concerns including grief, depression, self harm, work stress, etc based on each clinician’s experience, training and interest.

We believe therapists do their best work when they feel supported. Therefore, that’s a top priority for us. We want to make private practice as low stress as it can be for you. We value having a drama-free work environment. And we try to do everything we can to empower you giving you full control over your schedule, the ability to decline client’s who aren’t a good fit, access to resources and consultation, etc.

Our office is located in Columbia, MO and many of our clients do prefer in person sessions. However, most clinicians also offer some online sessions and a couple of our counselors live elsewhere in Missouri and are completely remote.

What we’re looking for:

  • Mental health clinicians who care deeply about helping their clients.
  • Individuals who are caring, humble, hardworking and able to resolve problems by talking directly to coworkers (no badmouthing, passive aggressiveness or gossip!)
  • Clinicians committed to providing evidence based counseling – This means you are either already trained in or open to quickly getting training for evidence based methods such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), EMDR, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure, Exposure and Response Prevention, etc.
  • People who work well with teens & adults (we primarily see ages 10+).
  • Individuals interested in treating a lot of anxiety & trauma – this is what we are known for and we seek to provide top notch, evidence based treatment for anxiety disorders & PTSD!
  • Fun people to work with who will get to know their coworkers, seek out colleagues for consultation, etc.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear more about you! Some of the things we have to offer include:

  • Full control over your own schedule
  • The ability to work some from home and some from the office – We provide a secure platform and EHR to make working from home easier
  • Encouragement to work with your ideal clients-you know, the ones you are truly excited to see!
  • Compensation for a “clinical hour” between $30-$46 which pays for seeing the client + doing their note. Then, additional compensation for hourly work (example: attending meetings), a technology stipend (we use our own computers), a “Full Time Bonus” in additional pay, PTO, a new client bonus after completing the treatment plan, Bereavement leave when needed, etc.
  • Low “full time” requirements! You are considered full time if you see 23 clients per week or more. This allows you plenty of time for paperwork, consultation with other clinicians, allows for client cancellations, etc.
  • Training – A $250 yearly CEU stipend plus some additional trainings when offered to the entire staff. If hired at this time, you may choose to be trained on CPT for PTSD and/or ERP for OCD and take those trainings in your first few months without that being included in the stipend.
  • We’re actively trying to add more benefits! In the next couple of months we hope to add life insurance, dental & vision as we are currently speaking to an insurance representative about those. Then, our owner has a meeting scheduled to learn more about offering retirement in a couple of months.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 – $46.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:
At this time, all clients and staff are required to wear masks in the lobby. Individual therapists decide if clients may remove masks once in session. Clinicians sanitize the office between clients and we have air purifiers in each room.

License/Certification:

  • clinical license to practice counseling/therapy in Missouri? (Required)
