Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) / Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Fulltime Day shift at our Pitkin County facility in (Aspen, Colorado) to provide mental health consultation as well as direct mental health services in accordance with CHP’s and the facilities policies and procedures. The Mental Health Professional must practice in accordance with the ethics and standards of relevant professional organizations (e.g., NASW, APA). The designation of duties will be determined by the current needs of the inmate population and the mental health professional’s status. The Mental Health Professional must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different situations.

Experience Required:

  • Professional license in social work.
  • A professional* license in Social Work (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is required.*
  • Supervision is able to be provided to LPCC candidates with a Master’s Degree pursuing LPC licensure only.
  • Minimum one year of work experience in a community setting, i.e. correctional care, case management, home health care, discharge planning or department of social services, etc.
  • Knowledge of case management, community resources/agencies, program and workflow development, process improvement, and implementation.
  • Skilled in conflict management, problem-solving, risk mitigation, and resolution.
  • Able to resolve resource issues effectively to improve clinical outcomes of patients.
  • Able to accept and work with diverse populations and provide culturally sensitive coaching, education, and assistance to patients/families.
  • Skilled in motivational interviewing.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining positive relationships and communicating effectively with coworkers and jail staff.
  • Skilled in organization, coordination, and facilitation of meetings and/or events.
  • Able to perform the intermediate level of competence with various computer software applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to resolve resource issues in a creative, positive manner to improve clinical outcomes for patients.
  • Able to work with the health care team to most effectively manage patients.
  • Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
