Job Description:

The Mental Health Professional is responsible for the coordination of referrals, admissions, assessments, interventions, therapy and discharge planning under the direction of the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) Supervisor.

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Responsible for developing treatment plans within the first five days of treatment to include a detailed, individualized crisis prevention and intervention responses.
• Conducts a formal treatment plan review in accordance with the 3800 regulations.
• Ensure each client receives individual therapy for a minimum of one hour weekly or as needed based on mental health needs as well as family therapy weekly.
• Maintains individual client charts and entering of data into electronic file system.
• Implement and co-facilitate therapeutic, recreational, and educational activities.
• Participate, observe, and document group dynamic interactions.
• Work with program staff to ensure the safe implementation of the behavioral management program appropriate to the needs of the clients.
• Develops and implement training for staff to ensure continuous improvement in staff’s ability to provide quality service for the clients.
• Acts as liaison between referral source and treatment teams.
• Ensures client to staff ratios are kept at all times.

Required Education, Experience, and Clearances:

• Master’s degree in social service related field is required.
• Experience working in the mental health field is required, particularly providing therapy, developing treatment plans, safety plans, etc.
• FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances may be required dependent on residency status.
