Job Overview

Overview:
  • We are seeking a full time, Mental Health Skill Builder to work individually with consumers diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness in community based settings.
  • If you enjoy an active schedule and working one-on-one with others, then this position could be a great fit for you.
  • A Skill Builder models, teaches, and coaches individuals in skills needed to live meaningful lives in the community and working toward recovery.
  • Services may include budgeting, community integration, coaching on ADL’s, monitoring and accessing health and wellness resources, medication monitoring and time management.
Requirements:
  • We are looking for applicants with some knowledge of mental illness.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and on a team.
  • Passion for supporting others.
  • Good writing skills and time management.
  • Current valid Virginia driver’s license required.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services or a related specialty.
This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

We are one of 40 community-based public providers of mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability services throughout Virginia. The Commonwealth has designated the 40 CSBs as the single point of entry into publicly funded behavioral health and developmental services. HRCSB is supported through local, state and federal funds. We provide an array of programs and supports directly and through partnerships with other providers.
