Job Overview

Phoenix Counseling Center provides quality, trauma-informed outpatient substance use and mental health counseling services to individuals and families, in a home-like setting. With caring, compassion, and understanding, we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of the people we see and the community we serve.

We are in need of at least one full/part time mental health/substance use counselor.

In this position, you would fulfill the following essential functions:

  • Conduct intakes, assessments, individual and group counseling, service planning and discharge planning.
  • Carry a caseload of individuals and engage in service planning using a strength-based and motivational approach.
  • Plan and implement client interventions.
  • Provide individual and group counseling per productivity standards.
  • Monitor and track progress.
  • Implement outreach efforts to maintain individuals’ engagement in the treatment process.
  • Provide timely and accurate clinical documentation including service notes and progress notes in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards of conduct.

Requirements

The right individual for this position has a passion for helping others and is able to manage difficult situations in positive and constructive ways. This position also requires the following qualifications:

  • Master’s level education in mental health counseling.
  • Desire to obtain CADC certification within 2 years of start of employment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate clinical concepts and program outcomes.
  • Ability to pass a criminal and abuse background check.

Pay based on experience. Days/hours to be discussed, we are very flexible. PTO, 6 paid holidays. Health insurance available for full time employees.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Education:

  • Master’s (Required)

Experience:

  • Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Mental health counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
