Mental Health Technician/Driver – Per Diem Opportunity (Friendswood Area – on-call as needed) with full-time potential

 


West Oaks Hospital
 has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over three decades. Our 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and included a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency.

 

We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults. Treatment is offered at multiple levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient.

 

We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you and answer your questions about treatment options and insurance coverage. The hospital is easily accessible off the Southwest Freeway near the Galleria.

West Oaks Hospital is seeking a responsible, friendly and safety conscious van Driver to work in the Friendswood area on-call as needed Monday – Friday 8a-5p to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Mental Health Technician/Driver would be based at the Friendswood Excel Outpatient Center and will assist in the direct care and management of adolescent and adult patients as directed by the Manager, Outpatient Services, Program Therapists and Nurses to provide supervision, safety and crisis management for the patient population. To assist in the front office duties. To transport patients to and from the clinics.


Job duties:

  • Patient Transportation and errands to the hospital
  • Responds to behavior crisis and assists with crisis intervention
  • Assists with clerical duties and miscellaneous needs in the clinic

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Education Required: High school diploma or GED. Current Texas driver’s license with good driving record,
  • Licensure and certification Required: CPR certification and hospital de-escalation certifications.
  • Experience Required: Six months of driving and customer service experience. Preferred: One year experience as a mental health worker.
