Job Overview
Responsible for assisting unit staff in the provision of Psychiatric Rehabilitative services to patients on the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit. Assists with structured activities, personal care needs and discharge planning. Provides crisis intervention techniques as necessary, to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

  • Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior healthcare experience with demonstrated competency in a psychiatric setting preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in a clear and concise manner.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or within 6 months of hire.
  • Phlebotomy education required at time of hire or within 6 months of hire.

Effective January 2019, St. Joseph’s Health requires certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association.
