Liberating Jasper is an outpatient mental health and nutrition counseling practice, focused on helping those on the spectrum of disordered eating and body distress. Our providers practice from a trauma-informed, harm-reductive, anti-oppression, fat-positive, and Health at Every Size (HAES) lens.

The Mental Health Therapist is a vital member of our outpatient healing community in upholding Liberating Jasper’s core values of anti-racism, anti-oppression, trauma-informed, fat-positive, and compassionate body liberation and eating disorder recovery work. The Mental Health Therapist is part of an integrated team of providers – along with nutrition counselors, interns, and operations staff – who are responsible for providing the most healing and inclusive standard of care for clients struggling with the spectrum of disordered eating and body distress. The Mental Health Therapist’s primary role is to provide mental health therapy to individuals and couples/families (if the latter is applicable). Additional responsibilities include coordination of care, as well as weekly staff meetings and clinical supervision. The Mental Health Therapist may also facilitate virtual support groups, if desired. The starting pay rate for a Mental Health Therapist is $60 per clinical hour, $25 per administrative hour.

Requirements:

This position requires a minimum of 20 client session hours per week, plus 2 hours of administrative time (weekly staff meetings and supervision). Benefits at 20+ hours per week include: medical/dental/vision insurance (50% paid by employer) and paid time off (PTO). If contracted at 26+ client sessions per week, medical/dental/vision insurance is paid 100% by employer.

Expectations:

  • Practicing from a clinical approach aligned with Liberating Jasper’s core values
  • Scheduling 22-24 clinical sessions per week to account for cancellations/no-shows, ensuring the 20-hour requirement is met
  • Completing all clinical notes and documentation by noon on Monday for the previous week
  • Attending weekly staff meetings, trainings, and group consultation
  • Participating in weekly supervision
  • Conducting initial, weekly, and discharge sessions with clients
  • Collaborating with Liberating Jasper nutrition team and outside providers for continuity of care
  • Responding to new client assignments within 2 business days
  • Contributing to the organizational culture in a positive and collaborative manner
Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years experience working in the eating disorder field
  • Valid WA state licensure required (associate licenses are accepted)
