As a behavioral health physician, you will develop and foster team partnerships, collaborate with case management and the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of medicine

BC/BE

Active – or eligible for a – VA Medical License

Completes initial assessment and evaluation of new patients and provides ongoing monitoring of patient’s medical condition and provides treatment. Reports to Physician Supervisor. Orders prescription medications and diagnostic procedures and authorizes and coordinates all specialty and ancillary services.Participates in the development of such programs as preventive health screening, immunization program, professional community outreach, quality assurance, etc. Participates in wide range of clinical research projects and studies. Participates in multidisciplinary team activities, including case conferences, etc. Provides inservice staff development and clinical teaching of trainees rotating through Medical practice. Maintains a consultative relationship with nurses, social workers, staff clinic nurse, rehab staff etc.
