PAY RANGE: $75,721.99 – $111,245.88 per year

SUMMARY: Working with the organizational wellness team, develop and implement wellness and mental health initiatives for employees of the District. Act as the employee connection to all wellness and mental health programs and resources provided by or through the District, including benefit plans, perks, and services through benefit vendors. Market wellness and benefits offerings by visiting schools and tailoring resources to individual site needs.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. They do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only.

  • Working with the organizational wellness team, develop, market, and promote wellness and mental health programs and resources provided by or through the District to support the well-being of district staff, including but not limited to physical, financial, intellectual, social-emotional, and culture-climate wellness. [Daily, 20%]
  • Present wellness programs and resources and benefit offerings to school populations. Educate employees about available resources. Develop and deliver mental health trainings pertaining to current events such as COVID, racial injustice, etc. and with a focus on tier one and tier two supports and strategies. Other trainings may include coordinating to offer Mental Health First Aid or other emotional support tools. [Daily, 20%]
  • Partner with the organizational wellness team and others within the District and outside organizations such as the District’s benefits broker and health carriers to develop and implement the Emotional Fitness Summit. Participate on other mental health initiatives within the District. Play a key role in driving action plans that come out of these summits and initiatives. Track applicable data and report outcomes to District leadership. (Weekly 20%)
  • Participate with community agencies to discuss and brainstorm solutions to community healthcare and wellness struggles so that we may improve the strength and stability of the district and the community at large. [Monthly, 20%]
  • Counsel employees one-on-one about resources that may assist with their particular situation. [Daily, 15%]
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in mental health, counseling, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in a public school setting.
  • Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with suicide prevention, social-emotional health/learning, mental health literacy, mindfulness practices, positive psychology, substance use prevention, resilience, and best practices in adult learning, prevention sciences and community/parent partnerships, collaboration and education.
  • Intermediate organizational skills.
  • Intermediate skills in public speaking to large audiences.
  • Intermediate skills in conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Advanced interpersonal relations skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in human relations and relationship-building.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.

  • Colorado Special Services Provider (SSP) license in School Psychologist, School Social Worker or Counselor.
  • Colorado driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience creating and conducting staff trainings/adult learning, coordinating community partnerships, and implementing wellness and social-emotional initiatives.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
