OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY JOB DESCRIPTION

Nurture Collective (NC) is pleased to announce a unique opportunity. NC is seeking a new Occupational Therapist to ensure that families have the tools, support, education, and training they need so their young children (0-5) can reach their full potentials. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and reflective provider with an understanding of child development, infant mental health, maternal mental health, and a passion for working on behalf of the healthy development of young children and their caregivers. We seek an organized and efficient OTR who is excited to grow with this organization.

Job Duties Include:

  • *Adheres to and demonstrates Nurture Collective’s core values and mission in the performance of all aspects of this position
  • *Follow through on assigned referrals by providing intake, assessment/evaluation and recommendations, and occupational therapy treatment to families on developmental skills in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, social/emotional, cognition, speech/language, self-help and adaptive
  • *Maintain assigned caseload incorporating researched based intervention activities into daily routines that best facilitates child/family driven goals
  • *Uses parent coaching model in their treatment sessions
  • *Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate and timely
  • *Prepare occupational therapy assessment reports and maintain regular plans of care (treatment plans)
  • *Provide parent/caregiver education, coaching, consultation, training and outreach to community members, childcare settings and other service agency personnel in the area of child development and occupational therapy
  • *Support families through the transition process before their child ages out of receiving Nurture Collective services
  • *Provide Occupational-based groups to clients as needed
  • *Participate as an advocate for families and as a representative of Nurture Collective at meetings and events throughout the community, state and beyond as requested
  • *All other duties as assigned

Job type: per diem or part-time W-2 employe with the potential to grow to full-time (20 hours per week with expectation to provide 14-16 treatment hours per week)

Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensure or the ability to receive California licensure required
  • Ability to drive and maintain California license and insurance on personal vehicle for work
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Ability to pass the pre-hire background check required
  • At least one-year of pediatric experience with children and families is preferred
  • Experience working with Part C/Early Intervention services is preferred
  • Bilingual therapist (Spanish) speaking is preferred

Physical and Other Demands:

  • Must be willing to travel as necessary to provide services in-home to families in the Los Angeles area
  • Must be able to establish and maintain working relationships within the agency and with clients
  • Must be able to work in a consultative model/transdisciplinary model of intervention and a family-centered service delivery model
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of testing equipment, toys and supplies
  • Must be able to sit on the floor and move quickly after infants and toddlers

Salary: dependent upon experience

Experience: Minimum of one year of experience working with young children and families (preferred)

Work location: team member will provide in-home treatment to families in the city of Los Angeles and surrounding cities, including Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, South Bay and Whittier area. Our clinic is located in Whittier, CA. This position includes the potential for partial remote (telehealth) opportunities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,960.00 – $83,200.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
All therapists and parents are required to wear a mask; providing an option of telehealth for families that have a family member that tested positive until family can provide negative COVID test results to return to in-person therapy; PPE provided
