About the job
Merakey is looking for a Psychiatrist in our facility in Pottsville, PA. This location is easily accessible from RTs 81 and 78. Merakey’s Dual Diagnosis Treatment Team (DDTT) is a community-based program, providing treatment, support, and education to adults dually diagnosed with both a Mental Illness and Intellectual Development Disability. Individuals referred to DDTT are in crisis, at risk of losing community tenure, and/or are transitioning from acute care hospitalization. DDTT is comprised of a specialized mobile team of professionals including a Psychiatrist, Behavioral Specialist, Recovery Coordinators, Psychiatric Nurse, and Pharmacist.
Requirements:
- Psychiatrist in PA.
- 1 year clinical experience working with adults with mental illness and developmental disabilities (Dually Diagnosed).
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of dually diagnosed individuals, recovery principles and recovery driven service system.
- Professional credentials should be current as dictated by the State licensing standards and Professional Licensing Board.
- Ability to work on site in Pottsville a minimum of one day/month
Schedule: 10-15 hours/week
Duties:
As a member of the DDTT, the Psychiatrist is qualified in the mental health profession, and possesses the clinical skills and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate and provide psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation.
Drives the clinical treatment and medication management of individuals served.
Three 1-hour morning meetings per week
Sign off on treatment plans
New patients must see the provider in person (see onsite below) for psych evaluation
Complete 6 month re-evaluations during onsite days
Merakey will train provider in DDTT and provide all the equipment necessary.
