Job Overview

Overview:

The Psychology Associate I (Research) will help implement various ongoing pediatric studies, including: recruiting, screening, scheduling, and testing children with ADHD, Autism spectrum disorders, and Tourette syndrome.

Responsibilities:

1. Administer and score of a variety of diagnostic, cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessment instruments adhering to study protocols and IRB requirements.
2. Prepare reports describing research participants’ performance on standardized assessments administered as part of research protocols.
3. Train and supervise staff, students, and volunteers on all aspects of study protocols.
4. Assist with the coordination and communications of research projects in accordance with the funding agency’s award statement, including the recruitment of participants and implementation of all aspects of study protocols.
5. Design databases and implement database design changes.
6. Organize and maintain participant records to ensure accessibility, completion, and compliance with IRB standards.
7. Active participation in project meetings involving, but not limited to, grant preparation, manuscript preparation, quality control issues, and protocol development or revision.
8. Responsible for accurately coding, verifying, and entering research data into databases.
9. Accompany participants to the neuroimaging scanner and assist with mock scanning. Explain procedures and sequence of events and ensure participants are comfortable and ready to participate in the study
10. Active participation in manuscript preparation including formulating ideas, conducting literature searches, performing data analyses, and assisting in the writing of the manuscript.
11. Enhance professional growth and development through case conferences, educational programs, in-service meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Must be a Psychology Associate or qualify for Psychology Associate licensure.
Education: M.A./M.S. degree in psychology required.
Experience:
  • Some previous experience with pediatric populations required.
  • Experience or background in administration and scoring of educational and other behavioral tests required.
