Job Overview

Provides mental health services to offenders including crisis intervention, screening, psychological assessment and evaluation (psychological test administration, scoring, interpretation and report writing), psychoeducational services, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and release planning under the supervision and direction of the Psychologist/Psychology Associate Senior.
Screens, tracks and monitors offenders with mental health services needs in intake, general population, and special housing. Involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of mental health services, policies and programs at the facility. May be involved with special units or programs. Serves as a consultant to Administration, Security, Treatment and Community Corrections staff. Provides in-service training.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduate degree in Psychology (clinical, counseling, clinical social work) or an equivalent degree in related human services field from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with advanced coursework in psychology is required. Training and experience in the treatment of mental health disorders. Relevant professional experience under supervision to include demonstrated skills in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviewing, intelligence and personality testing and interpretation and report writing. Demonstrated ability to develop intervention and treatment plans. Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group counseling or therapy. Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices. Demonstrated ability to provide training. Ability to communicate effectively in orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed as a mental health professional and/or certified as a service provider preferred. Experience providing mental health services in a correctional, forensic, outpatient or other settings preferred.
Special Requirements
