Job Description

We are seeking a Crisis Counselor (QMHP-A Or QMHP-C) to join the SCBHS team!

Please note that this position is 100% travel and involves community based work.

Responsibilities:

• Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues
• Offer assistance to individuals with substance abuse issues (when applicable)
• Provide prevention-oriented therapy
• Implement and review treatment plans
• Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies
• Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields
• Familiarity with community mental health resources
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Knowledge of crisis interventions and therapeutic modalities
• Ability to implement treatment plans
• Use good judgment and strong clinical skills in order to make critical decisions about the necessity of treatment and documentation
• Strong leadership qualities

Certificates, Licenses, Other:

• Possession of a computer, cellular telephone, and vehicle to use for work related travel
• Valid Driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
• Virginia QMHP license
