We are seeking a Recovery Educator – Behavioral Health Specialist for our Road 2 Recovery program. This program helps our participants achieve independence in living, learning, working, and socializing.

As the Recovery Educator you will be responsible for sharing the underlying concepts necessary to recovery: hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy, and support

Day to Day:

  • Work with people who have experienced psychiatric symptoms to assist them discover the strengths they have and can use to enhance their recovery
  • Empower and motivate people to feel the way they want to feel, help make their lives the way they want them to be, and develop, keep and achieve life goals
  • Provide individual and group activities, education, skill teaching and opportunities on site and in the community
  • Provide linkage to resources in the community to assist individuals
  • Provide telephone and face-to-face outreach to individuals in crisis or in need of additional support, as assigned, during hours when individuals are not attending the program.
  • Assist in the evaluation and development of methods, curriculum and materials.
  • Assist Participants as needed with ambulation, dressing, rest room use as needed.
  • Perform related work as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate’s degree required; CPS or CPRP certification may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 1+ years’ experience in mental health direct service
