Community Recovery Support Specialist (CRSP) – Part-Time

About the Role

Fairfax Recovery Academy is seeking a compassionate and experienced Community Recovery Support Specialist (CRSP) to join our team. In this part-time role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals with mental health challenges in their path to recovery. Working under the supervision of the Recovery Support Supervisor, you will conduct outreach to clients, facilitate skill-building groups, and provide education on the recovery process. Your personal experience and positive energy will be an asset in empowering clients to achieve their goals.


  • Conduct outreach calls to connect with clients in the Recovery Academy program.
  • Document outreach efforts and client interactions in electronic health records.
  • Facilitate group sessions focused on skill development and recovery.
  • Complete orientation for new clients entering the program.
  • Track client progress and communicate changes to the clinical team.
  • Identify and communicate potential crisis situations to clinical staff.
  • Provide support and education on transportation resources.
  • Share personal recovery experiences and program knowledge to educate clients.
  • Utilize relevant computer software programs to maintain client records.


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Lived experience of mental health recovery (consumer)
  • Strong empathy and a genuine desire to support others
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to lead groups
  • Proficiency in computer software programs used for documentation
  • Certified Peer Specialist (preferred)

Schedule & Location:

  • Part-time position (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
  • 100% on-site at Fairfax Recovery Academy, 3026 Javier Road, Fairfax, VA 22031


  • $20.00 per hour (estimated starting salary based on qualifications and experience)
