Position Summary

This is a full-time research assistant position to work on research investigating motivation and emotion regulation in individuals with and without depression across the adult lifespan, using computerized testing, ecological momentary assessments, and functional and structural MRI. 

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participants recruitment and scheduling.
  • Assists with coordinating undergraduate research assistants and other research team members.
  • Behavioral and cognitive testing, and data management.
  • Assists with MRI data collection, quality control, and analyses.
  • Developing scripts and analysis approaches for required data sharing submission to the NIH NDAR Data Sharing Database.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Working Conditions

  • This position requires traveling between the Danforth and School of Medicine campuses.
  • The MRI scanner noise can be loud.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SPSS and/or R statistical programs, Excel, programming (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with structural and/or functional MRI processing and analyses.
  • Experience with peripheral psychophysiology data collection, processing, and/or analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and take initiative.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, or a related field and one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience equaling five years.
  • Prior research experience in a psychology or neuroscience research lab, though relevant coursework or research in related fields might count towards experience.

R06-H 

Salary Range

$15.61 – $24.39 / Hourly 

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
