Creative Alternatives, Inc. is recruiting for a Social Worker to work with our resource families and foster youth located within the Merced and surrounding areas.
Minimum Qualifications
1) Master’s Degree (or higher) in Social Work, Counseling or other related field recognized by Community Care Licensing OR
2) Bachelor’s Degree plus
- a) Experience in a public or private social service agency setting at the master’s degree level.
- b) 18 months experience in working with children and families.
- c) six months in-service training in working with minority populations within the first year of employment as a condition of employment.
3) Bachelor’s Degree plus OR
- a) enrollment in a master’s program in psychology, social work, child development or a like field
Master’s Degree pay rate: $62,400 salary
Non-Master’s Degree pay rate: $23.00 per hour
Qualifications:
- Two years’ experience working with children and families preferred.
- Meet all state licensing and insurance requirements.
- Must have a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Successful completion of LIC 503 Health Screening Report, including a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Abilities:
- Be mature and responsible in regarding performance of job duties.
- Have knowledge of treatment and care of emotionally disturbed children and families.
- Able to demonstrate competence in preparation of written assessments and reports.
- Able to have positive interaction with clients, families and STRTP staff.
- Able to follow directions and meet deadlines.
- Able to arrive at work on time and as scheduled.
- Able to communicate effectively with administration and outside agencies.
Duties:
- Develop and update Appraisal, Needs and Service Plans for each client.
- Address complaints and investigations regarding clients.
- Prepare Quarterly Reports for each client.
- Client psychiatric management.
- Maintain electronic information in FileMakerPro in a timely manner.
- Enroll clients in school and act as school liaison.
- Attend Individual Education Plans for clients.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling to help clients reach treatment goals.
- Crisis intervention and counseling.
- Develop plan and prepare clients for lower levels of care, reunification or emancipation.
- Investigate referrals for child abuse or neglect.
- Participate and present in agency trainings.
- Monitor client binders.
- On-call responsibilities.
- Continuing assessment to identify clients’ changing needs.
- Attend Child & Family Team (CFT) meetings for each client.
- Collaboration with service providers and outside agencies.
- Appropriate documentation for Medi-Cal billing.
