Job Overview

Summary

FRIENDS Association for Children is looking to hire a Social Worker for our Church Hill location. This position is responsible for providing family support services, including enrollment, case management, group facilitation, counseling and direct services to families and children served by childcare programs.


Work Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday.

Duties

  • Manage childcare, enrollment services for infant, toddler, preschool and school-age children
  • Provide evaluation, service planning, case management and referral services
  • Develop and maintain service partnerships with health, mental health and social service organizations
  • Prepare documentation for case records
  • Coordinate childcare transportation services
  • Coordinate parent council activities
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and activities
  • Serve as liaison between childcare staff members, children and their families

Requirements

Education:

** MUST have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in SOCIAL WORK (no exceptions)** and at least 1-2 years of experience in the Social Work field

  • Proven work and/or internship experience as a social worker
  • Working knowledge of social theories and practices
  • Social perceptiveness and empathy
  • Ability to build and maintain professional helping relationships
  • Ability to relate and communicate with diverse population and groups
  • Resilience along with ability to assess situations
  • Willing to submit to background checks
