POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting for Social Workers. This position will be assigned unit social work coverage and hospital-wide services based on the needs of the hospital, and other duties as assigned. This full-time position pays $23.88-$31.15 per hour and is located in Oshkosh, WI. This is a contracted position scheduled for up to 6 months.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assessing patient needs and making recommendations for treatment, monitoring and coordinating patient legal status, participation in the development and provision of both individual and group treatment programming, and developing and coordinating discharge planning for patients.
  • This position functions as the liaison with the patient, the patient’s family/natural supports, community agencies, and the treatment team.
  • Social Workers are also responsible for assessing and improving clinical practices and other quality initiatives.
  • The position may involve participation in work groups or committees for advancing department and facility initiatives within the scope of social work practice.
  • This is an intensive social work position within a fast-paced psychiatric crisis setting.
  • It involves the application of professional skills, requiring the social worker to exercise considerable initiative, independence, and sound judgment in the performance of the duties described.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned.
  • Recommend new approaches, polices, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.
  • Proven, high quality customer service (internal and external customers).
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certification as a Social Worker, Advanced Practice Social Worker, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of WI.
  • Education, experience, or training practicing Social Work, including assessment, case management, and discharge planning.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 – 50 pounds at times.
  • Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, however evening and weekend hours may be required.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
