About the job

  • Staff Psychiatrist coordinates and administers psychiatric and medical care to all patients and residents of Hackensack Meridian Health Carrier Clinic.
  • Conforms to performance improvement standards of patient care as established through Carrier Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides professional representation of Carrier to other health professionals, community agencies, and the lay public.
  • New Jersey State licensed MD/DO, who is a graduate of an approved medical or osteopathic school; has successfully completed residency training in general psychiatry and/or specialty; board certification in general psychiatry and/or specialty from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is recommended, meets all other obligations as set down in the medical staff bylaws for membership on the Medical Staff.
  • Physicians are expected to meet continuing education and testing obligations as required by the state and for maintenance of certification, as indicated.
  • Current New Jersey medical license; Current US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate; Current NJ Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) certificate; Board certified or Board eligible in American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; Continued fulfillment of Continuing Medical Education requirements as established by the ABPN;
