PURPOSE: The Substance Abuse Clinician will provide counseling services to Agency clients with specialization in the field of addiction and its effects on the individual, families and the community. The emphasis will be service delivery in and for the Jewish community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides screening, assessment, outpatient treatment, and referrals to agency clients
  • Provides individual, conjoint, family and group counseling
  • Develop and conduct psycho-educational programs
  • Consult with and serve as resource to agency staff regarding the disease of addiction
  • Collaborate with Outreach/Prevention and Education staff
  • Establish relationships with other complementary providers in the community
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Clinical Master’s Degree in related field with advanced licensure of LCSW or LPC and credentialed as MAC or CAADC.
  • Knowledgeable in and experience with The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for treatment required.
  • Experience working with individuals, families and groups. Experience conducting workshops and comfortable with public speaking assignments.
  • Knowledgeable about Judaism and Jewish families.
