Number of Openings: One

Hours Per Week: 40

Yearly Rate: $36,885

Hourly Rate: $17.73

Bi-weekly: $1,418.67

Work Schedule:

Sun: (12:00 pm – 10 pm) = 10 hours

Mon: (1 pm – 8 pm) = 7 hours

Tues: (1 pm – 10 pm) = 9 hours

Wed, Thurs, Fri: Off

Sat: (8 am- 10 pm) = 14 hours

SUMMARY:

As a Teacher/ Counselor atLifeworks, Inc you will be a direct support professional (DSP) supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential program. You will be working in a beautiful home in the suburban town of Westwood, MA, and receive a signing bonus shortly after joining our team.

If you are an adaptable, creative and caring person who enjoys working as part of a team helping individuals live as independently and safely as possible in their community, while planning and engaging in some fun and rewarding activities along the way, then we’d like to talk with you about joining a team of Teacher Counselors who are dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSP).

In your role as a Teacher/Counselor, you and your team will work together with the people we serve to develop their independence skills thereby increasing each person’s quality of life, providing case management, teaching skills to enhance their abilities, and providing advocacy on their behalf, as well as, build and strengthen their lives.

Requirements:

  • A copy of a Covid-19 vaccination of two shots will be required
  • New hires who have not received the booster shot, will agree to a targeted date for the booster shot, based on the date of their last vaccine.
  • BA/BS in Human Services / related field or substitute 10 years of related experience with persons with ID/ DD or human services.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills – * please note that as a part of the interview process, all candidates will be completing a 1-page writing sample. *
  • Valid driver’s license & personal vehicle required
  • An interest in enhancing the lives of the people we support each and every day
