Job Title: Teacher, Preschool Behavioral Intervention Specialist
Reports To: Program Manager
FLSA: Exempt
Location: Berkshire Pre K-12 Campus

Summary: Instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, day care center, or other child development facility by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned by the Administration.
Keep informed of trends, methods, and issues as well as local, state, and mandates/policies relating to teaching and your area of licensure.

  • Provide an all day pre k classroom environment conducive to learning for all students by:
  • Using all available resources to present instruction that allows for individual differences.
  • Creating proper plans for all daily lessons.
  • Properly supervising student behavior and collaborating with behavioral support staff
  • Promoting student participation and interaction.
  • Perform necessary record keeping procedures to include: Attendance, Assessment results, Behavioral incidences
  • Assist in developing a quality educational program for students by:
    • Participating in curriculum development and material selection.
    • Able to integrate students with challenges and typical students successfully with intensive differentiation strategies. All students need to work towards Kindergarten readiness.
    • Being involved in intervention strategies, both academic and behavioral.
    • Supporting and upholding school policy and procedures.
    • Familiarity with Foundations and Early Numeracy strategies, or willing to be trained
    • Developing frequent communications either written or oral with: Parents of children, teachers and administrators of the building/district, related agencies/community members who provide services to children and teachers from other districts.
    • Attend meetings and complete forms necessary for the quality operation of education relating to your area of responsibility.
    • Collaborate with outside agencies and/or partnerships to ensure carryover of strategies between school and home.

Education/Experience & Certification: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; Must obtain and maintain a valid License with the State of Ohio Department of Education appropriate to the area of teaching and meets all Step Up to Quality Program requirements to achieve a 5 star status.

Criminal Records Check: Must comply with Ohio Revised Code 3319.39 – Criminal Records Check.

Drug Testing: Must pass a 10 panel drug screen at time of hire and comply with the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988
