Cancer CAREpoint provides personalized support to patients, survivors, families and caregivers in Silicon Valley. We are seeking counselors who want to help clients navigate the practical, psychological and emotional impacts of cancer. Cancer CAREpoint is the only community-based organization in Silicon Valley providing direct non-medical support programs to patients and family members no matter where they receive their medical care, their insurance status or cancer type, all at no cost.

Our counseling services are offered on a short-term basis using the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy model. We do not provide in-house services for acute psychiatric needs or severe mental illness, and do not diagnose or engage in insurance billing for our services. All charting is to licensure and internal organizational standards. Caseloads are realistic and are expected to be healthy and sustainable for the clinical staff, we believe in wellness for our staff as well as our clients.

This is full-time position, Monday through Friday. Some evenings and Saturday hours may occasionally be required. Cancer CAREpoint staff currently have the option of choosing to work from home one day per week. While staff is in the office, we are currently providing all client care virtually. This is expected to change as safety and health guidelines allow.

Job Duties and Tasks:

· Provide individual, group and family psychosocial care counseling

· Meet with cancer patients, family members, caregivers to assess non-medical needs

· Administer distress screenings

· Provide case management and advocacy, referrals to appropriate services

· Facilitate support groups

· Collaborate with representatives from other agencies

· Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff is working in the office, all client care is provided online. Staff wear masks in public places, cleaning is scheduled throughout the day, all staff attest to health status when signing in.

Education:

• Master’s (Required)

Experience:

• Individual / group counseling: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BBS license: ASW, AMFT, APCC (Preferred)
