Scope of Position

The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. The therapy aide is a team member responsible for assisting staff physical/occupational therapists in their treatment of assigned patients. All patient care duties performed require supervision by a therapist. The therapy aide is a member of the Rehabilitation department and is an important assistive component of the interdisciplinary medical team that strives to return the patient to his/her highest level of functional independence.

Position Summary

The therapy aide assists in treatment of patients on assigned rotations, in addition to providing cross coverage of the Rehabilitation division’s other locations/sites (Acute, Dodd Acute Inpatient, Outpatient Clinics), as need dictates. Duties relating to routine operation of the rehabilitation department, including department cleanliness, monitoring of equipment and supply inventories, maintenance and patient transportation may also be responsibilities of the aide. This position works under the direct supervision of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Services Manager.

Minimum Education Required
Per Classified Civil Svc Specs or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications
Per Civil Service Requirements: Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide whole numbers & to read & write simple sentences.
