The Travel Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing clinical counseling service and case management service to children at on-site children’s’ residential facility in support of family reunification services for children.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments.
  • Providing individual therapy to patients and help making positive behavior changes, setting treatment plans, arranging referrals.
  • Provide psychological therapy,
  • Determining the strength and weakness of the patient,
  • Provide direct therapy, attend case conferences and sending reports to medical professionals.
  • Conducts and documents ORR unaccompanied child (UC) assessments in accordance with ORR policies and procedures.
  • Reports significant incidents in accordance with ORR policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with counselors and care coordinators to ensure communication.
  • Maintains the ORR Database in accordance with ORR policies and procedures.
  • Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, AAAHC, and other mandated regulations/standards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science in which clinical experience is a program requirement. Bachelor’s degree in the aformentioned fields and an additional 2 years experience in mental health care can be substituted for advanced degree.
  • Bilingual in both Spanish and English.
  • One (1) year of pediatric mental health experience
  • License preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.

  • While While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Additional physical requirements include the following:
    • Must be able to sit for more than eight (8) hours per day
    • Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs
    • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet
