Description
Are you looking for a career that allows you to positively impact individuals and communities across Kentucky? We are looking for a Regional Prevention Center (RPC) liaison to join our team in the Behavioral Health Prevention and Promotion Branch. Prevention efforts focus on reducing or delaying the initiation of substances, mental health issues and their related consequences with Prevention services provided through the Regional Prevention Centers located within each of the 14 Community Mental Health Centers in Kentucky.

This position serves as a liaison between the RPCs and our Department to ensure services are delivered in accordance with best practice, current research, and the annual contract.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides direction, integration and coordination of prevention services to communities through the Regional Prevention Centers, located across the state.
  • Coordinates development of policies and procedures to implement prevention programs and services with providers. Provides training on best practices of community coalitions with local agencies, civic partners, groups and providers.
  • Provides technical assistance to providers concerning program development, outreach, alternative funding sources and local partner strategies.
  • Monitors, evaluates and reports established performance indicators and measures associated with prevention activities to comply with federal funding requirements. Monitors financial expenditures and provides technical assistance as needed to ensure accurate, timely and completion of all required reporting.
  • Possess or obtain within hiring the Certified Prevention Specialist certification. Maintain throughout employment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of professional experience in the administration or management of institutional activities, BHDID Central Office, community, or agency programs.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master’s degree in behavioral health, disability or a health related field (such as human services, psychology, nursing, health administration, substance abuse, special education, rehabilitation, social work, sociology) will substitute for two years of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional professional experience in the management and/or administration of a clinical or administrative program, program analysis, financial analysis, or general administration of activities within a facility/institutional/community setting or central office will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Works primarily in an office setting within a behavioral health or intellectual disabilities program.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
