Job Overview

Summary of Clinician / Social Worker:

Child Welfare Services at WIHD seeks a part-time clinician (21 hrs/week) to join Project IMPACT, an innovative, research-based program that provides in-home training and support to adults with an intellectual disability or history of significant learning disabilities whose children are at risk of foster care placement. Clinician must be available to schedule appointments during weekday daytime hours (9-5).

Services are based on a curriculum that emphasizes in-vivo learning and modeling of over 21 parenting skills, including home safety, problem solving, and parent advocacy. Clinicians are assigned a small number of families so that there is opportunity to provide an intensive level of services.

Qualifications:

  • Interested candidates must have a graduate degree in a related field (social work, mental health counseling, psychology). License to practice in NYS is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing parenting/family training services, and should be familiar with the child welfare and disability systems.
  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel throughout Westchester County.

Pay: $30.00 – $32.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
WIHD is taking every measure to provide a safe work environment. All staff, clients and visitors are pre-screened everyday and required to wear masks in public areas. Additionally, all high touch areas along with work spaces are cleaned nightly.
